Student Leadership

At Henley Beach Primary School we believe that students have a voice and are able to make a valuable contribution to their school. It is important that students be given the opportunity to express their views on issues of concern to them in the school. It is equally important that they are listened to and encouraged to take an active part in promoting the aims and objectives of the school. Student voice plays an important part in the day to day proceedings at our school.

We have made innovative steps towards improving our Student Leadership Model, with expansions made to the existing structure in order to better cater for a wider range of student needs, increase student involvement and participation and support students working through democratic processes to bring about change and deal with issues which they deem as important for their school and wider community.

Student Leadership in 2017 has broadened at our school through the introduction of a Foundation-Year 2 Action Team as well as a Year 7 Student Executive Committee. These forums work in collaboration with the existing Year 3-6 Student Representative Council and Year 7 House Captains to promote improved student learning outcomes Foundation to Year 7 and lead their peers to create a powerful learning community.
