Play Group

Henley Beach Primary School Playgroup (HBPSP) strives to provide a friendly, supportive and informal atmosphere where local families can get together to share and to discuss common interests and experiences while providing their children with a safe and interactive environment. Playgroup is a fun place for children to create, learn, experiment and make friends. It is also a place of tolerance, playing, growing and having fun for children and their carers. While playgroup greatly benefits our children, it also benefits parents/caregivers, through learning new ideas and sharing experiences. Even if your child has reached school age you are welcome to come along just for a coffee and a chat. Many of our parents/caregivers have older children as well, and would be happy to share their knowledge and experience as well as receive information from you. This is a valuable way of getting to know people/families in the area. This could be beneficial if you are new to the area/country.

Tea and Coffee is provided.

Involvement:

We encourage everyone to help in the running of the group, not only in the cleaning and activities, but more importantly in the decisions made by the Playgroup. Playgroup belongs to everyone who attends so everyone has an equal share in how it operates. If you have any ideas or find that there are any shortcomings in equipment or stock, please let us know. At the end of the session, please pitch and help us pack up, take out the rubbish, sweep and general tidy up.

A small fee per session is requested from families.

Responsibilities:

You are responsible for the supervision of the children within your care; however we would appreciate if you could be aware of other children around you. This allows playgroup to run smoothly. If you see a child behaving in an inappropriate way, please separate the children involved and inform their carers. We do not allow smoking and swearing in front of the children. Please bring a piece of fruit or snack and a drink, as well as a hat for your child. HBPS is an allergy aware school – please advise if children have any allergies e.g. nuts.

Session Times:

Please contact the school for current play group session times and arrangements.
