Intervention Programs

A range of intervention programs are utilised to support students who are experiencing learning difficulties. A current program, MiniLit, is designed to support students foundational literacy knowledge. MiniLit is a research initiative of the Macquarie University. The program is a highly effective and intensive early literacy intervention program. It has been specifically researched and designed for students in year one who meet a specific selection criteria. Tutors in MiniLit have undertaken extensive training to be able to deliver the program. The course duration is for twenty weeks and presented in a small group setting, four - five days per week, for an hour per day. The content is very structured and systematic and since its implementation last year has seen great success.
