STUDENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Role Statement:
  • Committee members will work alongside S.R.C. (Student Representative Council)/House Captains and the broader school community to promote improved student learning outcomes F-7 as well as provide a collaborative and democratic approach towards achieving whole school improvement.

Application Criteria:
  • Year 7 Students only

  • Maximum of 8 students to form committee (4 Male-4 Female) through a self-nomination ballot system. Voting is conducted by classmates and endorsed through class teachers. 1 Male and 1 Female elected through peers and the remaining 6 through teacher appointment.

  • Written Application using a template provided promoting your character strengths and leadership capabilities.

Student Requirements: (Resume)
  • Confident in Public Speaking

  • Demonstrate initiative, drive and independent problem solving strategies e.g. T.O.M. (Tournament of Minds), social maturity, organisation, past school experiences exercising student leadership and engagement

  • Practice and promote an understanding of positive Growth Mindset/Positive Education, ‘Teach on’, co-design and Student Voice strategies

  • Work well both in a team and in an independent learning environment.

Student Expectations:
  • Willing to work in a team or independently both during, and outside of class learning time

  • Attend team, Student Leadership and School Partnership meetings/forums and work with classes Foundation to Year 7

  • Consult with Leadership, staff, students, S.R.C. and the broader school community (Governing Council/Assembly/Partnership Meetings) to create, promote and share strategies to improve student learning outcomes F-7 as well as provide a collaborative and democratic approach towards achieving whole school improvement.
